14 more sleeps..

...until I see The Fountain at Film Fest. Once more for emphasis, I present the trailer for the best film of the year.

The Science of Sleep

This is the kind of film you like even more the next day. I really liked it the night I saw it and now I think I love it. It makes me feel like a 6 year old in the midst of an intense fever hallucination. It is so completely nonsensical and bizarre, yet totally sweet and romantic. It's like a person on mushrooms and a person on acid went to a playground, sat on a teeter-totter and wrote a screenplay. It's delightful. Enjoy.

Body Worlds 3

Body Worlds is a traveling exhibition of preserved human bodies and body parts that are prepared using a technique called plastination to reveal inner organs or structures. The exhibition's developer and promoter is a German anatomist named Gunther von Hagens (the guy in the tilly hat and leather vest), who invented the plastination technique in the late 1970s.
The exhibition is at Science World right now and you'd better go see it because it is pretty mindblowing. I found myself staring into the eyes of the bodies. Sounds creepy but try it.

Actual human peeps! Science is incredible.
